Dr Ronnesia Gaskins, Clinical Psychologist
Specialties include: assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, stress management, smoking cessation, weight management, coping with chronic disease and its management (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes), child and adolescent behavioral difficulties, school adjustment, parent training/childrearing and developmental disabilities
Dr. Gaskins received her Doctorate (PhD) in Medical (Clinical) Psychology and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed an internship in Behavioral Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Her clinical work, teaching and research have focused on providing evidence-based treatments to adults, children, adolescents and families in a broad range of clinical difficulties, including in general mental health, making healthy lifestyle changes, and child, adolescent and family concerns.
Dr. Gaskins takes a client-centered, holistic approach to care, providing a safe, supportive and reflective environment to optimize patient growth and fulfillment while incorporating into the therapeutic process the impact of individual (mind, body, physical health), systemic and other social and environmental factors across the developmental spectrum.
